8th September 2024
Continuing Community Care Fundraiser Overview
On 8th September 2024, Continuing Community Care hosted a successful fundraiser from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The evening was filled with delicious food, community engagement, and a shared commitment to a vital cause.
Event Highlights
Culinary Delights
Guests were treated to a delightful menu featuring:
Meat & Veggie Curry:
A selection of hearty curries made with tender meat and fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection with a blend of aromatic spices. This dish catered to all tastes, ensuring that both meat lovers and vegetarians could enjoy a satisfying meal.
Fluffy Rice:
Accompanying the curries, the rice was perfectly cooked, providing a great complement to the rich flavours of the dishes. It served as a filling base for the curries, allowing guests to savour every bite.
Fresh Salad:
A vibrant salad made with seasonal greens and crisp vegetables, dressed lightly to enhance the flavours without overpowering them. This option provided a refreshing contrast to the warm curries and was appreciated by those looking for a lighter choice.
Purpose of the Fundraiser
The primary aim of the fundraiser was to raise vital funds for our mission of building a rehabilitation centre equipped with a hydrotherapy pool. This facility will specifically serve individuals suffering from long-term health conditions, offering them a space to recover and rehabilitate through targeted therapy.
Key Features of the Rehabilitation Centre:
Hydrotherapy Pool:
The hydrotherapy pool will be designed to provide therapeutic exercises in a warm, supportive environment. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility issues or chronic pain, as water reduces strain on joints and promotes ease of movement.
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Programmes:
In addition to hydrotherapy, our centre will offer a range of rehabilitation programs tailored to individual needs, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and wellness workshops.
Community Engagement
The evening was not only about fundraising but also about bringing the community together. Attendees mingled, shared stories, and built connections, fostering a sense of belonging and support. Many expressed their enthusiasm for the project and shared their personal experiences related to long-term health challenges, reinforcing the importance of our mission.
Atmosphere of Enjoyment
The event was filled with laughter and camaraderie, with many guests commenting on how much they enjoyed the food and the company. The positive energy was palpable, and it was heartwarming to see the community rallying behind a cause that will have a profound impact on the lives of many.
Conclusion
Overall, the fundraiser was a resounding success, achieving its goal of raising funds for the rehabilitation centre while also strengthening community ties. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended, contributed, and volunteered. Your support is invaluable in our mission to create a facility that will enhance the quality of life for individuals with long-term health conditions. We look forward to updating you on our progress and hope to see you at future events!

Lifting the Croydon Community:
We welcomed experienced crafters, bakers, and candlestick makers, bottlers, photographers, and fantastic creators.
Last Sunday, 28th April 2024, Continuing Community Care held an Arts and Crafts Fair, inviting Croydon community to join them for a vibrant celebration of creativity and fun, all in support of a worthy cause.
In total, we had an amazing 21 tables all selling arts and crafts. The venue was filled with happy faces and satisfied customers. It was an enjoyable afternoon with light refreshments, tea, coffee and cake.
The products were incredible: seriously scrumptious cakes, homemade fresh juices, cuddly toys, earrings, cards, knitted goods, chutneys and jams, tote bags, towels and so much more. It was a showcase of local talent, from stunning artworks to handcrafted treasures.
This was a great opportunity to support local designs, people, and business! Thank you to all who came, it wouldn’t have been as successful nor eventful without you and your wonderful creations.
This fundraiser, like all others, wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication from our committee. The work they do does not go unnoticed! Special thanks to Jan Harvey, who was our lead through hours, days and weeks of preparation and on the day.
This will not be our last arts and crafts fair! We will continue to support local artisans in the future. Please share your experience with friends and family.
Lastly, it wouldn’t have been a CCC fundraiser without a collection of raffle prizes. The raffles were stacked high with generous donations given by CCC clients, thank you all.
Congratulations to our winners: Steve, Maya and Debbie!
A big thank you to all involved, with your help, we raised £850!
Best wishes

Family Quiz Night and Raffle, 24th February 2024
CCC Family Quiz Night
We held a hugely well attended Family Quiz Night on Saturday 24th February at The Bramley Hill Centre.
Many familiar faces came along with friends and other family members making up a jolly bunch of quizzers, 60 in all, making up 12 teams. Each team arranged their own tasty takeaways, treats, snacks and drinks to sustain them throughout the quiz.
The lovely Bridget was our Quiz Host, organiser of questions, quiz packs and encouraging humorous banter which kept the lively teams in order. Questions were varied and fun. Picture rounds were puzzled over. Joker cards were played. The questions kept on coming. Health, Local Knowledge, Sport to name but a few.
Audrey, multi-tasking, as always, checked and entered scores on the huge scoreboard made especially for the evening by husband Richard. She also sold and folded raffle tickets for the six-raffle prize goodie bags.
As Joker cards were played, the scores catapulted back and forth. Excitement grew and the final scores were totted up. It was a close contest. Two teams drew for joint second place. The winning team won by only three and a half points!
Medals and trophies were awarded to the happy winners.
We raised a spectacular £798.46 for our charity Continuing Community Care. All achieved just by lovely people coming together and sharing a fun filled evening with our loved ones. It was a resounding success.
If you missed coming this time look out in the future because we will definitely be doing it again. In the mean-time don’t forget the other events coming up.

Christmas Party and Grand Raffle, 9th December 2023
The Bake-Off was an amazing afternoon. The cakes looked and tasted beautiful, and it was lovely to
have time to sit and chat to people, both those who we might see in our own group each week and
new friends.
And as for our Christmas party: wow, what an evening! It was far more than Paul and the committee
could have imagined, and it was all down to every one of you. When we asked for donations for the
raffle hampers, we were hoping you might be able to bring in a small item each. What came in
bowled us over, we really couldn’t believe your generosity in donations and purchasing tickets for the
raffle and the party itself. Huge thanks to Jane for being able to turn a room of her house into Santa’s
workshop for a couple of weeks! And I can’t mention the party without saying another thank you to
Selina.
We are so lucky to have you, and everyone, in our CCC family, giving your time, skill, and hard
work for us. This is just the beginning, we have to keep working hard to ensure that the vision of CCC can come to
fruition; so there will be more fundraising and social events in the next year. CCC Committee Dec 2023

The Bake Off 23rd September 2023
On 23rd September 2023, Continuing Community Care hosted an incredibly successful fundraiser that brought together community members for a day filled with fun and delicious treats. The centrepiece of the event was a bake-off, where talented bakers showcased their skills by creating an array of mouth-watering cakes. These weren’t just any cakes; they were true works of art, each one beautifully decorated and unique in flavor. Attendees had the opportunity to sample these scrumptious confections, making it a delightful experience for all.
In addition to the bake-off, the fundraiser featured a raffle with an assortment of fantastic prizes. This added an element of excitement, as participants eagerly anticipated the chance to win something special. The prizes included gift baskets, vouchers for local businesses, and other enticing items that catered to various interests.
To keep the atmosphere lively and engaging, several games were organised. One popular game was “Guess How Many Jelly Beans Are in the Jar,” which challenged participants to estimate the number of colourful jelly beans contained within a large jar. This game was not only fun but also encouraged social interaction among attendees as they shared their guesses and strategies.
Another crowd favourite was “Guess the Teddy Bear’s Name,” where participants tried to guess the name of a plush teddy bear displayed at the event. This game added a whimsical touch and sparked conversations among attendees, with many sharing their own teddy bear stories and memories.
Overall, the fundraiser was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work of the volunteers and the enthusiastic participation of the community. The event not only raised funds for Continuing Community Care but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and community spirit. It was a day filled with laughter, delicious treats, and memorable moments that left everyone looking forward to the next gathering.
