Aqua-Robics classes are a great way to combine traditional gym workouts with the benefits of hydrotherapy and warm water.
It only takes a few Aqua-Robics sessions and you’ll feel the difference, improved stamina, improved cardiovascular function, improved strength and overall fitness.
Classes will involve some of the exercises you would expect to do on dry land. But there are added bonuses when you exercise in water.
- Water supports the body, putting less stress on your joints and muscles
- Working out in water helps build strength quicker than working against air
- The water resistance activates your muscles and makes them work a little harder
- Warm water pressure helps move blood around the body
- The impact of gravity is less in the water allowing a greater range of movement
- and importantly… it’s fun!
Pool Temperature:
The pool water is maintained at approximately 32ºC, with the air temperature kept at least 1º higher at 33-34ºC.
What to expect at an Aquarobics class
The first thing you’ll get is a great all-over workout.
You’ll also use equipment such as aqua dumbbells, floats, noodles and paddles.
It gives you a good cardiovascular workout, gently increasing your pulse and breathing rate, so it’s great for helping to improve your heart health.
It strengthens and tones muscles – the resistance of the water means that opposing muscle groups are worked in each movement as you push and pull against it.
It improves flexibility, while the support of the water greatly reduces the risk of muscle and joint injuries.
It’s a great stress reliever – giving you a feeling of weightlessness and an enormous sense of well-being.
The pool provides an excellent base for exercise, providing a relaxing and fun environment for movement.
The water’s warm temperature decreases muscle spasm, relieves pain and can increase range of movement.
Pool Dimensions: The pool measures 6m by 4m, with a water line depth of 1.25m. Volume: 30m³
